During our Sunday afternoon excursion, delaying the inevitable of leaving our dear friends & this beautiful nature-filled city, we wondered over to Dickson Street Bookshop. Buzzfeed took notice and added Dickson Street Bookshop to it's 17 Bookstores That Will Literally Change Your Life article back in June.
This place is cool. Aisles that wind around throughout the shop like a maze. Finding the perfect gift for that hard-to-buy-for loved one in your life? This is the place to go. Here a few of the books the Jeffus' purchased for us:
I love garage sales, thrift and vintage shops. We don't have many thrift shops here in Bedford, TX but at this time of year there's garage sales galore! Here are a couple very cool finds from yesterday:
"Box of trunks"
The nice lady who sold me this showed me what she has in her "box of trunks".
I did not get a picture but she's filled it with her grandmother's antique Christmas ornaments & added some Christmas tree lights to be kept up year-round on a shelf as a night-light or ambiance lighting. Very clever & quite lovely. Thank you neighbor :)
Wooden Bible Holder -
The same nice lady sold me this one as well. Thought it too beautiful to pass up, especially for $2!
My dear friend, Suezanne, found this beauty out by someone's trash.
So much time & love creating this piece, along with a handmade frame, and someone just tosses it out.
Never underestimate what you can find out there. One persons trash is another's treasure.
