How2 - Organic Tomato Trellis

So, I mentioned constructing a small trellis for our two little tomato plants this week.  We have our tomato plants in a burlap sack:

He is missing a little support that will be necessary over the next few weeks. I wanted to use something with an organic look as we do not have a specified garden & we have the plants in sacks, pots, a few in the ground, etc.
We have some dowel rods & lots of twigs so, I thought if I tied them together that may very well give me the look I was hoping to achieve. So, I gathered my supplies:

• Couple dowel rods 
• Several various sized sticks/twigs
• A handsaw
• Pair of nippers
• Twine

Begin with two equal length rods or sticks. Cross them at the top:

Then secure with your twine using the over & under method:

Find your next size stick & repeat with both ends:

Work the various lengths sticks attaching them to the dowels with twine. Make sure you place the horizontal pieces over one side of the dowel then under the opposite side. (I did this to all but the top.)

Push the dowels/sticks down into the ground:

Attach back support, tie off at the top with twine:

These are our first tomato plants. Please keep your fingers crossed that they survive. More than likely I'll need to construct another trellis once the plants outgrow this one. But, that'll be another post........
